I think the most positive aspect of my training leading up to the race was resisting the temptation to race too much, i got some really solid months of volume high mileage months. This is something i will now be returning to. Im really excited to try and clock up some monster weeks in succession, hopefully at some point in the summer clocking up a 200km week! im thinking i need to have a goal race and work towards that instead of doing things willy nilly :) at this stage thinking i'll be doing the city beach 8k, but only as a hit out in training. in the new year potentially the darlington half marathon where i wil try and defend my title, this was the first race i ever won.
also excited at the prospect of possibly going to switzerland, my favourite place in europe from the spots i have visited, to compete in the jungfrau marathon. This marathon is one of the toughest in the world as it is nearly all uphill. Starts in a beautiful town called interlaken (500m above sea level) and finishes over 2100m above sea level!! I just love this place so much that i have to do this marathon at least once, i figure i may as well go while im young and healthy.
keep well all
